Overseas programme Act: "Girardin" tax reduction for productive investment opened to all sectors except exclusions
The overseas programme Act overhauls the income tax reduction for productive investment overseas (Article 199 undecies B of the General Tax Code). Instead of a list of eligible sectors, all sectors are open except a list of exclusions (retail, catering other than classified tourist restaurants, consultancy, research, education, health, banking and insurance, real estate, cruise shipping, some business services, leisure, associations and postal services). The rate rises to 70% in the overseas departments for pleasure boating and for renovating classified hotels, tourist residences and holiday villages (60% in the overseas collectivities), and by ten points for renewable energy production. The ministerial approval threshold rises from €760,000 to €1,000,000. The regime applies to investments made between promulgation and 31 December 2017.
