Increase in basic old-age pension contributions on 1 January 2017 (last step of the 2014 decree)
Decree no. 2014-1531 of 17 December 2014 gradually raises, in 2015, 2016 and 2017, old-age insurance contribution rates in all basic pension schemes, by 0.3 point in total, in line with the pensions act of 20 January 2014. In employee schemes, the increase is shared equally between employees and employers. On 1 January 2017, the last step, the uncapped old-age contribution in the general scheme rises to 0.40% for employees and 1.90% for employers; for craftsmen and traders in the RSI, the increase is 0.1 point in 2017.
