Increase in the tax for aid to trade and crafts (TACA): from €3.50 to €9.38 and from €12.73 to €34.12 per m²
Article 29 of the 2004 Finance Act rewrites the rates of the tax for aid to trade and crafts (Article 3 of Act No. 72-657 of 13 July 1972), payable by large retail stores. For turnover below €1,500 per m², the rate rises from €3.50 to €9.38 per m² (from €4.25 to €11.39 when fuel is sold). Above €12,000 per m², it rises from €12.73 to €34.12 (from €13.32 to €35.70 with fuel). A decree sets the intermediate rates. According to the explanatory memorandum, the increase offsets part of the abolition of the meat purchase tax.
