Non-medical temporary accommodation for patients: health insurance funding made permanent

Decree No. 2026-280 of 14 April 2026 makes permanent the funding of the non-medical temporary accommodation service (Article L. 6111-1-6 of the Public Health Code), trialled since the 2021 Social Security Financing Act (Article 59). Hospitals meeting the specifications receive, within their allocations, funding based on a per-night flat rate set by ministerial order, which may vary by geographical area. Insured persons, State medical aid (AME) recipients and insured persons in Mayotte and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon cannot be charged for this accommodation; other patients and accompanying persons are invoiced.
