Wealth tax on real estate (IFI): exclusion of unfurnished homes let at capped rents to capped-income tenants

Article 965 of the General Tax Code is supplemented: homes let unfurnished as a main residence to tenants whose income, when the lease is signed, does not exceed the ceilings set for intermediate rental investment (Article 199 novovicies, III) would be excluded from the real estate wealth tax (IFI) base, provided the rent also stays within those ceilings and the home was let for at least eight months in the year before taxation. Letting to members of the taxpayer's household, ascendants or descendants is excluded. Applies from the IFI due for 2027.

Translation: It seeks to remove from the IFI base housing rented to tenants below a certain income and rent ceiling.

Translation: We will vote against the amendment. If we think property owners who are millionaires or multimillionaires should rent out their properties at moderate rents, rather than giving them yet another tax rebate as has been done throughout this budget, we could start by capping rents!
