Compensation for wolf attacks conditional on protection measures in 'circle 2' areas
Decree No. 2026-53 amends Decree No. 2019-722: in 'circle 2' areas (where wolf predation is possible during the year), as already in circles 0 and 1, compensation for wolf damage to sheep and goats requires reasonable protection measures, unless the flock suffered fewer than three attacks in the past twelve months or is recognised as impossible to protect. Decree No. 2026-128 specifies that obtaining protection aid counts as meeting the condition, adds an exception for colonisation-front areas recognised by order, and starts the twelve-month period in circle 2 no earlier than its entry into force.
