1% indexation of the 2018 income tax scale (2017 income)
Article 2 of the 2018 Finance Act raises by 1%, in line with the estimated 2017 rise in prices excluding tobacco, the bracket limits of the income tax scale applied to 2017 income, as well as the family quotient cap and the low-income reduction (décote).
Measure originators
A positive amount is revenue or savings for public finances; a negative amount is a cost or lost revenue.
Measure impact
The threshold of the 14% bracket rises from €9,710 to €9,807, the 30% bracket starts at €27,086, the 41% bracket at €72,617 and the 45% bracket at €153,783 per share. Households whose income rose in line with prices do not see their tax rise because of inflation alone.
