Wealth tax: exemption of retirement savings products (PERP, Préfon) without the 15-year duration condition
Article 885 J of the General Tax Code exempts from the solidarity wealth tax (ISF) the capitalised value of life annuities built up under retirement savings contracts funded for at least fifteen years. Article 8 of the 2007 Finance Act removes this duration condition until 31 December 2008 (later extended to 31 December 2010) for popular retirement savings plans (PERP), Préfon and similar contracts created by the pension reform Act of 21 August 2003, where the subscriber joins less than fifteen years before the age for a full-rate pension. Article 9 specifies that annuity payments start at the earliest when the pension is drawn.
