Wealth tax (ISF): exemption for life annuities built up through work or a PERP retirement plan
Article 18 of the 2005 Finance Act rewrites Article 885 J of the General Tax Code: the capitalised value of life annuities built up through a professional activity or an individual retirement savings plan (PERP), funded by regular premiums for at least fifteen years and paid from retirement or the legal retirement age, is excluded from the wealth tax base. The exemption covers the subscriber and spouse. The article comes from a proposal of the Senate Finance Committee, in wording settled by the joint committee.
