Social leasing: aid to rent an electric car for low-income households (first edition)
Decree No. 2023-1183 of 14 December 2023 creates, from 1 January 2024, an aid for leasing electric cars for people whose reference taxable income per share is below €15,400 and who drive more than 15 km to work or more than 8,000 km a year for work. The lease, of at least three years, covers a vehicle costing €47,000 or less and weighing under 2,400 kg, with rent of at most €150 a month after aid and at least 12,000 km a year. For a new car the aid is at most €13,000 minus the ecological bonus; for a used car, €5,000 within 16% of the price. Decree No. 2024-102 repeals the scheme from 15 February 2024; leases of new cars signed before then remain eligible if the first rent is paid by 30 September 2024.
