Increased childcare supplement for families receiving the disabled child education allowance
The 2019 Social Security Financing Act allows the childcare choice supplement (CMG) to be increased when the household receives the disabled child education allowance (AEEH) for a dependent child, as is already the case for single-parent families and recipients of the disabled adult allowance. According to the impact assessment cited by the Senate, the increase was to be set at 30% by decree.
Measure originators
A positive amount is revenue or savings for public finances; a negative amount is a cost or lost revenue.
Measure impact
Families who use a childminder or home-based childcare for a young child and receive the AEEH get a higher CMG. The measure affects a limited number of families (33,000 families received the AEEH for a child under 6 in 2016). It applies to childcare provided from 1 November 2019.
