Outside the coordinated care pathway: co-payment surcharge range raised to 17.5-22.5% and rate set at 20%
Decree No. 2007-1170 of 2 August 2007 amends Article R. 322-1-1 of the Social Security Code: the range within which the National Union of Health Insurance Funds (UNCAM) sets the surcharge on the co-payment of insured persons who consult without having designated a referring doctor or without being referred by that doctor rises from 7.5%-12.5% to 17.5%-22.5%. Until the UNCAM decision, the previous rate remained applicable. The UNCAM set the surcharge at 20% by a decision of 29 August 2007, notified in the Official Journal of 1 September 2007; the new surcharge has applied since 1 September 2007. The surcharge was later raised to 40% from 31 January 2009.
