Pension insurance credit for former local executive officials: implementing rules

Article 5 of Law No. 2025-1249 of 22 December 2025 on the status of local elected officials created a pension insurance credit of one quarter per full term served in a local executive office (mayor, deputy mayor, president or vice-president of a department, region or inter-municipal body, delegated councillor, etc.), capped at three quarters. Decree No. 2026-948 of 12 October 2026 defines a full term, the supporting documents and the pension scheme responsible for granting the credit. It applies to pensions starting on or after 1 January 2027.
