Charitable giving tax reductions extended to university and partnership foundations and to public-interest higher education institutions
The Act on the freedoms and responsibilities of universities (LRU) widens the scope of tax reductions for donations. Its Article 29 adds the university foundations and partnership foundations created by the same Act to the bodies for which donations give entitlement to the 66% income tax reduction (Article 200 of the General Tax Code) and the 60% corporate tax reduction (Article 238 bis). Its Article 38 rewrites point c of paragraph 1 of both articles to cover all public or private non-profit higher education or arts education institutions of public interest. The Act was published in the Official Journal of 11 August 2007.
