New Caledonia: overseas tax reductions opened to heavy rehabilitation works on damaged business premises
Article 21 of the 2026 budget act amends Article 33 of the 2025 budget act, which opened the overseas investment tax reductions (Articles 199 undecies B and 244 quater Y of the General Tax Code) to the purchase of destroyed non-residential buildings in New Caledonia undergoing heavy rehabilitation. It extends them to heavy rehabilitation works carried out by owners (individuals or companies in an eligible sector) on their own damaged non-residential buildings, the aid being based on the cost of works less public aid. Programmes above €2m require approval by the budget minister.
