State contribution to the cost of livestock health surveillance by official veterinarians
The order of 3 July 2026, issued under article L. 201-8 of the Rural Code, creates a State financial contribution to the cost of the health surveillance and prevention measures that livestock farmers must have carried out by their official veterinarian. It covers part of the resources veterinarians mobilise on an ongoing basis (monitoring, advice to farmers, data reporting, logistics) that are not paid through individual acts. It equals 2.1 veterinary medical acts per farm for which the veterinarian is designated and is paid directly and annually to the veterinarian.

Measure impact
Official veterinarians designated by livestock farmers: the State pays them each year the equivalent of 2.1 veterinary medical acts per farm they cover, the number of farms being set before 31 July by the agriculture ministry. The payment, made on behalf of farmers, does not replace act fees or their payment by animal keepers.
