Disability compensation benefit extended to parenting needs

Decree No. 2020-1826 of 31 December 2020 extends the disability compensation benefit (PCH) to human and technical assistance needs related to parenting, includes meal preparation and dishwashing in human assistance, and removes the maximum age for a first application for people whose disability met the criteria before age 60. An order of 17 December 2020 sets the flat-rate amounts.

Measure impact

Human assistance: €900 per month for a child under 3 (€1,350 for single parents), then €450 per month from 3 to 7 (€675). Technical aids: €1,400 at birth, €1,200 at the 3rd birthday, €1,000 at the 6th birthday. Applies to parents receiving the PCH, for applications filed from 1 January 2021.
