"Driving licence for one euro a day": State pays the interest on loans funding B licence training for 16-25 year olds

Decree No. 2005-1225 of 29 September 2005 creates State aid for driving training: interest-free loans taken out with approved credit institutions to fund B licence training for a person aged 16 to 25 who has never held this licence, at an approved driving school, give rise to compensation paid by the State to the banks. The loan is €800, €1,000 or €1,200 (€600 in some cases), repaid in monthly instalments of no more than €30, once per beneficiary. The scheme applies to loans concluded from 3 October 2005.
