Research tax credit ceiling raised from €10 million to €16 million
Article 91 of the 2006 Amending Finance Act, resulting from a Government amendment, raises the research tax credit ceiling (Article 244 quater B of the General Tax Code) from €10 million to €16 million per company, for expenditure incurred from 1 January 2007. The 2007 Finance Act also removes the €120,000 annual limit on patent defence costs (Article 15) and adds plant variety certificates to the base (Article 16). The ceiling was abolished by the research tax credit reform in the 2008 Finance Act, for expenditure from 2008.
