Repayment plans for social debts of businesses in the overseas departments, with possible partial write-off
Article 32 of the law on the economic development of the overseas territories allows businesses established and operating in the overseas departments on 1 April 2009 to request, before 31 December 2009, a stay of proceedings for employer social security contributions due for periods before 1 April 2009. The request suspends proceedings for six months, during which a repayment plan of up to five years is signed; it may cancel penalties and surcharges and provide for a partial write-off, up to 50%, of debts recorded at 31 December 2008, provided the employee share is paid.
