Agricultural business capital gains: exemption thresholds raised to €350,000 and €450,000
Article 94 of the 2024 Finance Act creates, in Article 151 septies of the General Tax Code, specific thresholds for farm businesses: full exemption of business capital gains when revenue does not exceed €350,000, and a tapering partial exemption between €350,000 and €450,000. The previous thresholds were €250,000 and €350,000.

Measure impact
Farmers with revenue between €250,000 and €450,000 can be fully or partly exempted from capital gains tax when selling business assets. The rule applies to disposals made from 1 January 2023.
