Social levy on capital income raised from 2% to 2.2%
Article 6(VI) of the 2011 Finance Act raises the social levy on property income and investment income (Article L. 245-16 of the Social Security Code) from 2% to 2.2%, bringing total social levies on this income from 12.1% to 12.3%. The increase comes from a Government amendment in the National Assembly intended to finance measures added to the pension reform bill. It applies to property income received from 2010 and investment income accrued from 1 January 2011. The rate was raised to 3.4% by the amending finance act of 19 September 2011.
