Social levies due on death on unit-linked life insurance contracts
Article 18 of the 2010 social security financing act amends Article L. 136-7 of the Social Security Code: income from life insurance and capitalisation contracts, whatever their subscription date, becomes subject to the CSG and other social levies on the death of the policyholder, for the share not already taxed. Until then, unit-linked contracts, including multi-support contracts, were only taxed when the contract was closed other than by death. Taxation of unit-linked contracts at closure, rather than annually, is maintained.
