Entry conditions for children for the payment of family benefits to foreign nationals
Article 89 of the 2006 Social Security Financing Act rewrites the second paragraph of Article L. 512-2 of the Social Security Code. Foreign nationals receive family benefits for the children they support provided that they show, for each child, one of the situations listed: birth in France, lawful entry under family reunification, status as a family member of a refugee, or status as the child of a foreign national holding certain residence permits (Article L. 313-11 10° and 7°, Articles L. 313-13 and L. 313-8, Article L. 313-11 5° of the Code on the Entry and Residence of Foreigners). A decree sets the list of permits and supporting documents. The article sets no effective date: it applies from the entry into force of the Act.
