2003 drought: disaster loans to affected farmers at 2.5% or 1.5%
The order of 9 September 2003 sets, by way of derogation, the terms of special "disaster" loans granted to farmers affected by the 2003 drought: a 2.5% rate over a maximum of four years for damage to harvests and non-perennial crops, and over seven years for damage to soils, plantations, livestock and buildings. The rate falls to 1.5% (and the term rises to seven years for harvests) for young farmers and holders of a material improvement plan.
