Birth grant paid after birth instead of in the seventh month of pregnancy
Decree 2014-1714 of 30 December 2014 moves the payment of the birth grant of the early childhood benefit (PAJE): it is due and paid before the end of the second calendar month after the birth or end of pregnancy, instead of in the seventh month of pregnancy. The amount and income conditions are unchanged.

Measure impact
Applies to means-tested families whose pregnancy is declared to the family allowance fund from 1 January 2015: the grant is received after the birth instead of before. Decree 2021-368 of 31 March 2021 restored payment in the seventh month of pregnancy from April 2021.
