€1,000 return-to-work bonus and monthly flat-rate bonuses for recipients of RMI, ASS and API
The Act of 23 March 2006 on returning to work creates a return-to-work bonus (Article L. 322-12 of the Labour Code) and monthly flat-rate bonuses (Article L. 262-11 of the Social Action and Families Code, Article L. 524-5 of the Social Security Code and Article L. 351-20 of the Labour Code) for recipients of the minimum integration income (RMI), the specific solidarity allowance (ASS) and the single parent allowance (API) who return to work. Decree No. 2006-1197 of 29 September 2006 sets the return-to-work bonus at €1,000, paid after four consecutive months of work of at least 78 hours a month, and no more than once every eighteen months. From the fourth to the twelfth month of work, the monthly flat-rate bonus is €150 for ASS, €150 for a single person or €225 for a couple or with dependants for RMI, and €225 for API. These bonuses are exempt from income tax and CSG. The decree came into force on 1 October 2006. The return-to-work bonus took over from the exceptional bonus created by Decree No. 2005-1054 of 29 August 2005.
