Extension of the 3.5% cap on rent increases to the first quarter of 2024
Law No. 2023-568 of 7 July 2023, based on a bill tabled in the National Assembly, extends the cap created by the law of 16 August 2022 on purchasing power. The annual change in the rent reference index (IRL), used to revise residential rents, remains capped at 3.5% in mainland France up to the index of the first quarter of 2024, instead of the second quarter of 2023. The cap on commercial rent indices for small and medium-sized businesses is extended in the same way.
