Extension to 2017 of tax incentives for adding storeys to buildings and converting offices into housing
Article 10 of the 2015 Finance Act, resulting from an amendment adopted by the National Assembly, extends until 31 December 2017 three schemes created at the end of 2011 that were due to expire in 2014: the exemption of capital gains on the sale of a right to add storeys to a building in order to build housing, for individuals (Article 150 U, II, 9° of the General Tax Code) and for companies (Article 238 octies A), and the 19% reduced corporate tax rate on sales of offices or commercial premises to be converted into housing (Article 210 F). The extension covers sales made between 1 January 2012 and 31 December 2017.

Measure impact
According to the Senate general report, extending the reduced corporate tax rate has no effect on 2015 revenue and the cost of the exemption for rights to add storeys is not estimated; these schemes would not exceed a few million euros.
