Child maintenance: stronger role for family allowance funds in setting and recovering payments
Article 41 of the 2017 Social Security Financing Act strengthens the role of family benefit bodies (CAF, MSA) for child maintenance: a judge may order payment through the CAF when the paying parent has been the subject of a complaint or conviction for threats or violence; the CAF may pass information on the debtor's address and solvency to the creditor parent; CAF recovery is extended to contributions set by certain deeds or agreements. From 1 April 2018, the CAF director may make enforceable an amicable agreement between separating unmarried parents.
