Preventive archaeology fee cut by 25% for 2003
Article 105 of the 2003 Finance Act inserts a IV bis into Article 9 of Act no. 2001-44 of 17 January 2001 on preventive archaeology: preventive archaeology fees whose chargeable event occurs in 2003 are reduced by 25% for each public or private payer. The loss of revenue for the National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research (INRAP) is offset by an additional tax on the insurance contracts tax. The National Assembly had adopted a 50% reduction (identical amendments no. 158 by Gilles Carrez and Daniel Garrigue and no. 3 by Daniel Garrigue); the Senate finance committee proposed deleting it; the 25% rate was retained in the final text.
