Tax reduction for dependency costs in care homes: ceiling raised from €2,300 to €3,000
Article 4 of the 2004 Finance Act rewrites Article 199 quindecies of the General Tax Code: dependency-related expenses of people living in an establishment that has signed the multi-year agreement provided for in the Social Action and Families Code, or covered by the Act of 20 July 2001 on the personalised autonomy allowance, give entitlement to a 25% tax reduction up to €3,000 per resident, instead of €2,300. People living on 31 December 2002 in a non-contracted long-term care unit keep the former scheme with the €3,000 ceiling.
