Income tax reduction for subscribing to SME capital ("Madelin") extended until 2006 and ceilings raised to €6,000 / €12,000
Article 81 of the 2002 Finance Act amends Article 199 terdecies-0 A of the General Tax Code. The 25% income tax reduction for subscriptions to the capital of unlisted companies, which was due to expire on 31 December 2001, is extended to payments made until 31 December 2006. Annual payment ceilings rise from 25,000 and 50,000 francs to €6,000 for a single person and €12,000 for a married couple; any excess qualifies for the reduction over the following three years. The condition relating to the type of activity is removed and the majority individual ownership condition no longer applies to solidarity enterprises.
