"Madelin" SME investment tax reduction extended to 2010 and opened to holding companies; removal of the capital loss deduction
Article 59 of the 2007 Finance Act rewrites Article 199 terdecies-0 A of the General Tax Code. The income tax reduction for subscriptions to the capital of unlisted SMEs is extended to payments made until 2010. Eligibility conditions are redefined (registered office in the European Economic Area, EU definition of SMEs) and the reduction is opened to subscriptions to holding companies whose sole purpose is to hold stakes in eligible SMEs, in proportion to the amounts reinvested. The capital loss deduction of Article 163 octodecies A is repealed. The measures apply to payments made from 1 January 2007.
