Gift duty reductions: donor age limits raised to 70 and 80
Article 9 of the 2006 Finance Act raises the age limits for the gift duty reductions of Article 790 of the General Tax Code: the reduction for gifts of full ownership is 50% when the donor is under 70 (instead of 65) and 30% when under 80 (instead of 75). For gifts of bare ownership, the 35% and 10% reductions follow the same new age limits. These reductions were abolished, with exceptions, by the amending Finance Act of 29 July 2011.
