Annual review of medicine reimbursement by the HAS and possible switch to optional prescription
The article would task the HAS (French National Authority for Health) with an annual reassessment, notably of the medical benefit, of medicines or classes of medicines, and with assessing whether their coverage is appropriate at ministers' request; a supplier failing to provide the requested data would face a penalty of up to 10% of the product's turnover. It would also allow the ANSM (French medicines agency) to review the classification of medicines with a view to dispensing them without mandatory prescription.
