Reform of the annual flat-rate corporate tax: new scale and end of its offset against corporate tax
Article 21 of the 2006 Finance Act repeals Article 220 A of the General Tax Code, which allowed the annual flat-rate tax to be offset against corporate tax, and sets a new scale (Article 223 septies) based on turnover plus financial income: €1,300 between €300,000 and €750,000, €2,000, €3,750, €16,250, €20,500, €32,750, and €110,000 from €500 million. Companies with turnover below €300,000 do not owe it. The text applies to taxes due from 2006. The exemption threshold was raised to €400,000 in 2007, and the tax was abolished in stages from 2009.
