Fuel discount of 15 cents per litre excluding VAT (April-August 2022)
Decree 2022-423 of 25 March 2022 creates an exceptional aid paid to operators releasing fuel for consumption, to be passed on to the price paid by the end consumer: €15/hL (15 cents per litre excl. VAT) for diesel and petrol, €15/MWh for natural gas for vehicles and €29.13/100 kg for LPG. The period starts between 27 March and 1 April 2022 at the operator's choice; initially due to end on 31 July, it is extended to 31 August 2022 by Decree 2022-1042. Small filling stations can receive a repayable advance of €3,000 or €6,000 (Decrees 2022-447 and 2022-550).

A positive amount is revenue or savings for public finances; a negative amount is a cost or lost revenue.
Measure impact
All buyers of road fuel, private individuals and businesses alike, benefited from the discount at the pump for five months. Management and payment to operators are entrusted to the Agence de services et de paiement.
