Fuel discount raised to 25 cents then cut to 8.33 cents per litre excl. VAT (September-December 2022)
Decree 2022-1168 of 22 August 2022 extends the exceptional fuel aid to 31 December 2022 and changes its amount: €25/hL (25 cents per litre excl. VAT) for diesel and petrol from 1 September, then €8.33/hL at the end of the year; €25 then €8.33/MWh for natural gas for vehicles and €48.55 then €16.18/100 kg for LPG. Decree 2022-1355 of 25 October 2022 keeps the 25-cent rate until 15 November (instead of 31 October). A flat aid of €3,000 or €6,000 is created for small filling stations.

Measure impact
All buyers of road fuel received a discount of 25 cents per litre excl. VAT from 1 September to 15 November 2022, then 8.33 cents from 16 November to 31 December 2022. The general discount is replaced in 2023 by the fuel allowance targeted at low-income workers.
