Temporary increase of the ecological bonus and scrappage premium (car industry support plan)
Decree 2020-656 raises from 1 June to 31 December 2020 the bonus for an electric car (under 20 g CO2/km) to €7,000 for an individual and €5,000 for a legal entity, and creates a €2,000 bonus for plug-in hybrids under €50,000 with more than 50 km electric range. The scrappage premium rises to €5,000 for an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle (households with reference tax income per share of at most €18,000, €2,500 otherwise) and to €3,000 for a recent combustion vehicle (at most 137 g/km). The decree creates a top-up of up to €1,000 in low-emission zones and an electric retrofit premium.
