€1 CROUS meals for all students
Since 4 May 2026, all students can have lunch and dinner for €1 in university restaurants (CROUS), with no means test; students without grants previously paid €3.30.
A positive amount is revenue or savings for public finances; a negative amount is a cost or lost revenue.
Measure impact
One €1 meal per service, lunch and dinner. No specific regulatory text has been published: the measure relies on funding provided in the budget act. The Cnous (national student services agency) reports an additional €50m in 2026; the 2027 budget bill would reportedly provide €143m for a full year (announcement).
