Small farm pensions: duration requirement reduced to 22.5 years of self-employed farming
Article 107 of the 2007 Social Security Financing Act amends Articles L. 732-54-1 to L. 732-54-3 of the Rural Code: the increases of small pensions of self-employed farmers (farm operators, spouses and family helpers) require at least twenty-two and a half years of self-employed farming activity, whereas this minimum duration was previously set by decree. The provisions apply from 1 January 2007. The upgrade scheme was replaced on 1 January 2009 by the pension supplement created by Article 77 of the 2009 Social Security Financing Act, which kept the 22.5-year condition until it was lowered to 17.5 years on 1 January 2011.
