Disabled adults' allowance raised to €860 and income ceiling for couples lowered

Decree No. 2018-948 of 31 October 2018 raises the maximum monthly disabled adults' allowance (AAH) to €860 from the allowances due for November 2018. The same decree changes the income ceiling for recipients living as a couple: it is no longer twice the single-person ceiling but raised by 89%.

Measure impact

Recipients of the full AAH receive about €50 more per month from November 2018. For recipients living as a couple, the couple's income ceiling is lower (coefficient 1.89 instead of 2), which reduces or removes the allowance for some of them. Cost of the uprating estimated at €40m in 2018.
