Early 3.5% increase in personal housing benefits on 1 July 2022
Article 12 of the law of 16 August 2022 on emergency measures to protect purchasing power brings forward to 1 July 2022, instead of 1 October, the annual revaluation of the parameters of personal housing benefits (APL, ALF, ALS) and sets it at 3.5%. It also provides that the next annual revaluation uses the rent reference index of the second quarter of the year.

Measure impact
Households receiving a housing benefit get a 3.5% increase in the parameters used to calculate the benefit three months earlier than planned, from July 2022. The cost for the State is estimated at €114m for bringing forward the revaluation of rent ceilings and €55m for that of income parameters.
