Annual pension uprating moved to 1 April
Article 79 of the 2009 Social Security Financing Act amends Article L. 161-23-1 of the Social Security Code: the annual uprating coefficient for pensions of the general scheme and aligned schemes is set on 1 April each year based on forecast inflation excluding tobacco, instead of 1 January. Any gap between forecast and actual inflation measured by INSEE is corrected on 1 April of the following year. The rule is extended to civil service pensions, liberal professions and Mayotte.
