1.1% increase in basic state pensions on 1 January 2022

Basic state pensions, minimum pensions and some minimum social benefits are raised by 1.1% (coefficient 1.011) on 1 January 2022, under the legal rule indexing them on average consumer prices excluding tobacco (article L. 161-25 of the Social Security Code). The coefficient is set by interministerial instruction no. DSS/SD3A/2021/260 of 22 December 2021.

Measure impact

Retirees of the general scheme and aligned schemes see their basic pension rise by 1.1% from the January 2022 pension, paid in February. A €1,000 pension thus becomes €1,011. This increase was followed by an early 4% increase on 1 July 2022.
