Family benefits uprated by only 0.3% on 1 April 2019
The monthly base for calculating family allowances (BMAF), used for family allowances, the early childhood benefit, the back-to-school allowance and other family benefits, is uprated by 0.3% on 1 April 2019, by derogation from indexation on inflation. The same rule planned for 2020 was declared unconstitutional (decision no. 2018-776 DC).

Measure impact
Affects families receiving family benefits: a 0.3% increase on 1 April 2019, whereas the Social Security Accounts Committee assumed a trend uprating of 1.5%. Estimated saving of €260 million for the family branch in 2019.
