Family and social benefits raised on 1 April 2023
Family and social benefits and several minimum income schemes (family allowances, RSA, activity bonus, AAH, AEEH, early childhood benefits, back-to-school allowance, etc.) are indexed each 1 April to inflation excluding tobacco (Art. L. 161-25 of the Social Security Code). Since Article 9 of Law No. 2022-1158 of 16 August 2022 applied an advance 4% increase on 1 July 2022, the April 2023 coefficient equals the legal coefficient divided by 1.04. According to an interministerial instruction of 31 March 2023, the cumulative increase since April 2022 reaches 5.6%, i.e. about 1.5% on 1 April 2023.
