Survivor's pension opened to the dependants of holders of "frozen" military pensions from former French territories
Article 132 of the 2002 Finance Act supplements Article 170 of the ordinance of 30 December 1958, Article 71 of the 1960 Finance Act and Article 26 of the 1981 Amending Finance Act, which froze the pensions paid to nationals of countries formerly under French sovereignty or trusteeship. From 1 January 2002, the dependants of holders of an allowance or pension under the military invalidity and war victims pensions code receive an annual survivor's allowance or pension calculated on the frozen rate. Article 68 of the 2002 Amending Finance Act later launched a revision of these pensions.

Measure impact
Widows and other dependants of veterans from former colonies, previously denied a survivor's benefit, receive an annual survivor's pension at the frozen amount rather than the rate paid in France.
