EU definitive safeguard measures on steel: tariff quotas and 25% out-of-quota duty
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/159 of 31 January 2019 imposes definitive safeguard measures on imports of 26 categories of steel products. Tariff quotas are opened per category and, once they are exhausted, an additional 25% duty applies to imports. The measures followed the 2018 provisional measures taken in response to trade diversion after the US steel tariffs.
